Features: How do multinational corporations in developed countries expand globally? How does Japan make its products enter Western and European markets? Can the cultural gap between the East and the West be bridged? This book compiles dozens of classic management papers from around the world, featuring brilliant cases and insightful perspectives, making it a rare gem in cross-cultural management. This selected anthology includes international works by renowned management scholars from universities and business schools in many countries and regions (such as Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Hong Kong, China, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States). Part of the content is excerpted from the two editors' book, Management in Different Cultural Environments, written a decade ago (Oslo: University of Oslo, 1986). This book collects some of the most representative articles in the field of management. Some of the articles are revised versions of academic papers presented by management scholars at cross-cultural management seminars held in 1994 and 1995. These seminars were jointly organized by the Brussels European Institute of Advanced Management and Henry Management School. Other articles are excerpted from newly published articles on cross-cultural management in newspapers and journals. Here, sincere thanks are extended to the journals and publications that permitted us to reproduce these academic papers.
