What are the symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia?

Patient's question:

My private area has been itchy, but not too severe. About a week or so later, I noticed white patches of varying sizes in my private area. It was also difficult to be intimate with my partner. After a thorough examination at the local hospital, I learned that it was a type of white patch on the vulva. What are the symptoms of white patches on the vulva?

Doctor's answer:

Reappearance of female vulvar leukoplakia, with the main symptoms manifesting as significant vulvar itching and grayish-white or white inflammatory patches. The itching can last for months to as long as 20 years, occurring without regard to season or time of day, making it extremely unbearable. The grayish-white or white patches are commonly found on the inner and outer sides of the labia minora, the clitoris, and the inner side of the labia majora. The surface is keratotic, rough, thickened, and may even have cracks or ulcers. The borders are well-defined, and the shape is often irregular, appearing either singly or in clusters.
