Features: Since its publication, "The Green Channel" has been reprinted multiple times to meet the needs of English learners and users. Designed and written for adult English speaking learning, "The Green Channel" can be used in formal classroom teaching as well as for self-study. It is particularly suitable for candidates preparing for the English Speaking Test (GESE) jointly launched by Trinity College London and Beijing Education Examination Authority. Following the user manual of "The Green Channel," there is an official letter of recognition from Trinity College London, acknowledging that "The Green Channel" is one of the reference textbooks for the GESE exam. GESE is a distinctive speaking test with high reliability and validity, attracting an increasing number of English learners to participate. Among the candidates, a significant proportion are primary and secondary school students. These students come from full-time public and private foreign language training schools in Beijing. Many schools and parents have requested a set of oral textbooks more suitable for children's learning and exam preparation. In addition, over the past few years, through our English speaking training and pre-exam coaching for primary and secondary school students, we have gained some methods and experience. Given these requirements and our teaching experience, we decided to compile "The Green Channel." The three volumes of "The Green Channel" are roughly equivalent to the requirements of the GESE Speaking Test levels 1-10. The newly compiled children's edition follows the preparatory level of the GESE exam syllabus, based on the original textbook, incorporating the core content of the first volume and the first half of the second volume, and is divided into four volumes to suit children's English learning. "The Green Channel" can also serve as a guide for primary and junior high school students taking the GHESE levels 1-4 speaking exams, ensuring consistency in content and requirements between the original and the children's edition. To provide users and parents of young learners with a more comprehensive understanding of "The Green Channel," we have also included the official letter of recognition from Trinity College London in this book. During the compilation process, "The Green Channel" fully takes into account the psychological characteristics of children learning English and their current language learning and expression abilities. It references the objectives for listening and speaking parts of levels 1-5 in the "English Curriculum Standards for Full-Time Compulsory Education" issued by the Ministry of Education, combining it with the GESE exam syllabus. Considerations and designs have been made in terms of writing format, picture design, teaching methods, and the learning load per lesson, striving to help young learners enjoy the fun and sense of achievement of learning English, embodying the teaching philosophy of "learning through play" and "teaching in accordance with local conditions." The entire textbook features practical language, innovative layout, vivid illustrations, and a strong sense of fun. Its content is close to the daily lives of primary and secondary school students, making it easy to learn, remember, and apply in real-life situations, providing significant help in improving children's speaking skills.
