What is the best way to treat amenorrhea?

Patient's question:

What causes a woman to stop menstruating? At the age of 36, she has stopped menstruating and is experiencing feverish symptoms. Her left ovary is smaller, and she has undergone artificial cycles and taken Chinese medicine for a year. Her menstruation has not returned. How should it be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Amenorrhea is a common symptom in gynecological diseases and can be caused by various different reasons. It is usually divided into two types: primary and secondary. For cases of congenital ovarian dysgenesis, or where ovarian function is inhibited or destroyed, leading to functional decline, exogenous ovarian hormones can be used for replacement therapy. For those recommended for pregnancy, or with ovarian function not lost, the use of hormones or analogs to induce menopause is referred to as secondary amenorrhea.
