The book consists of an introduction and fourteen chapters, with a reasonable structure, clear logic, distinct viewpoints, sufficient arguments, and a simple writing style, making it a highly valuable academic work on the study of the ruling party's construction at present. This book has the following two characteristics: First, it is forward-looking and exploratory. Following the spirit of the 16th National Congress of the Party, the author not only pays attention to absorbing the latest research achievements of the theoretical circles but also clearly elaborates on independent thinking. In terms of the theoretical system of the ruling party's construction, the author breaks through the traditional framework of the party's self-construction and highlights the leadership and governance of the party, treating ruling capacity, ruling laws, and ruling methods as important content of the ruling party's construction theory. Currently, many problems in the construction of the ruling party are indeed related to deep-seated theoretical issues, but more are practical issues. The author well adheres to the principle of combining theory with practice, paying attention to summarizing the basic experience of the international communist movement and the ruling of the Communist Party of China, while conducting an in-depth analysis of the new situations and challenges faced by the ruling party in contemporary China from the perspective of the times, elaborating on the new requirements for the ruling party put forward by building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. The author does not avoid hot and difficult issues, conducting a relatively in-depth analysis of how to take development as the top priority of the ruling party's ruling and rejuvenation, how to adhere to the principle of governing the party strictly according to law and strengthening and improving the construction of the ruling party with the spirit of reform, including how to strengthen the internal democracy construction of the ruling party, the cadre team construction, the primary organization construction, the style construction, and the ruling capacity construction of the party, and proposing corresponding countermeasures, many of which are forward-looking and operable.
