Features: This book is written based on in-depth theoretical research and extensive practical investigations into China's pharmaceutical circulation reform and the development of e-commerce. It theoretically argues that the development of pharmaceutical e-commerce is an inevitable trend and necessity. The book introduces the development trends and experiences of pharmaceutical e-commerce globally, with a particular focus on China's pharmaceutical e-commerce, including its development history, current status, target models, detailed functions, processes, technical systems, and profit models. The book is divided into six chapters. First, it introduces the development trends of e-commerce domestically and internationally, with a focus on pharmaceutical e-commerce, emphasizing the prospects of the advanced form of e-commerce—the independent third-party electronic trading market—and its development status in the United States. In response to the reform of China's pharmaceutical circulation system and the widespread application of information technology, it argues the necessity and feasibility of implementing e-commerce in pharmaceutical circulation. Next, it summarizes the successful experiences of China's pharmaceutical e-commerce, using the electronic trading platform of Haihong Co., Ltd. as a prototype to discuss the functions and services of independent third-party pharmaceutical trading markets, their standard systems, business processes and operations, distribution and payment systems, security guarantees and government regulation, profit models, physical system architecture, main data structures, processing procedures, and system configuration, providing readers with a complete case study of pharmaceutical e-commerce applications. Finally, it analyzes the macro and micro application values of pharmaceutical e-commerce platforms and conducts a quantitative empirical analysis using the data from three online pharmaceutical centralized procurement initiatives in Tianjin, demonstrating the value brought by electronic trading systems to hospitals, pharmaceutical production and business enterprises, and pharmaceutical users. This book can serve as a textbook or important reference for senior and middle-level managers in pharmaceutical circulation-related departments, hospital management faculty and students in medical schools, and participants in hospital management training programs offered by business management colleges. At the same time, e-commerce practitioners and researchers, management consulting company researchers, and self-study learners interested in pharmaceutical circulation e-commerce can also benefit greatly from the book's explanations.
