How to treat the largest pelvic effusion of 2cm

Patient's question:

Married and childless, with the largest amount of pelvic fluid measuring 2 cm. The right ovary is normal, while the left ovary appears unclear on ultrasound. Occasionally, there is mild pain in the left lower abdomen. The vaginal discharge is not excessive and is relatively clean. How should it be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Pelvic effusion caused by acute or chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and adnexitis often accompanies lower abdominal pain (unilateral or bilateral), lumbosacral pain, lower back soreness with a sense of heaviness, lower abdominal distension and pain, dragging pain, lower back soreness, etc. It may also be triggered by prolonged standing, overexertion, sexual intercourse, or premenstrual relaxation, with severe cases interfering with training. Alternatively, it may present as lower abdominal pain, increased leukorrhea, menstrual disorders, heavy menstrual flow, dysmenorrhea, and reduced sexual satisfaction. Patients often feel extremely uncomfortable and should receive immediate and active treatment.
