How should cervical polyps be treated?

Patient's question:

I always get abdominal pain and a little bit of bleeding when I don't get my period. At first, I didn't pay attention, but gradually it became more and more. I went for a thorough check-up today, and they said I have cervical polyps and told me to take medication.
What should I do if I have cervical polyps?

Doctor's answer:

Polyps in the neck are caused by chronic cervical inflammation that damages the mucosa, leading to excessive fibrosis. Medication treatment for cervical polyps is not very effective, and the primary treatment is surgical removal of the polyps. If your bleeding continues to increase, it is better to have the polyps removed promptly. Physical therapy or Swiss bio-mimetic therapy can be used, and antibiotics should be administered postoperatively to prevent infection, such as anti-inflammatory tablets. It is normal to have discharge from the vagina for 3 days after surgery, and there is no need to worry about it. Avoid sexual activity and tub baths for 8 weeks postoperatively.
