Features: Reproductive medicine (Reproductivemedicine) includes closely related male and female reproductive medicine, which is an important branch of modern medical science studying reproductive health in men and women. It is closely related to every individual and family. With the rapid development of basic and clinical research in modern medicine, the study of reproductive medicine has flourished. The World Health Organization (WHO) now views a couple as a unified whole and defines reproductive health in terms of both partners. This means that both partners do not have or suffer from functional disorders or diseases related to reproductive function, while reproductive function should also be based on a sound reproductive physiological foundation, mental and psychological well-being, and a social environment. Additionally, couples not only have a healthy reproductive environment but should also have convenient and reliable contraception methods to control the number of offspring. Due to various environmental factors, 15% of married couples suffer from infertility, with male factors accounting for 50%. In recent years, research achievements in female reproductive health have been outstanding. While modern research on male reproductive health has also made significant progress, it is still in its early stages. Male reproductive medicine (Malereproductivemedicine), according to WHO's definition, is the science that studies male reproductive physiology and reproductive dysfunction, primarily including: the anatomy and physiology of the male reproductive system, male infertility, male contraception and sterilization, male gonadal dysfunction, male sexual dysfunction, and reproductive health in middle-aged and elderly men. As a relatively independent discipline, male reproductive medicine has certain unique aspects, such as hormone replacement therapy for male hypogonadism, delayed puberty, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorders, human sperm banks and sperm cryopreservation technology, male contraception and sterilization, and reproductive health in middle-aged and elderly men. Male reproductive medicine is related to the physical and mental health of every man from birth to old age, directly affecting the quality of life of every couple, as well as the health of their offspring. The necessity and importance of basic and clinical research in male reproductive medicine are self-evident. This book strives to track the latest international and domestic basic and clinical research progress in modern male reproductive medicine, aiming to provide a relatively comprehensive reference book for researchers and practitioners in reproductive medicine.
