Features: Research on D.H. Lawrence in China began in the 1930s, but there was a gap from the early 1950s to the late 1970s. Therefore, the peak of Lawrence research emerged after the reform and opening-up, and it underwent a complex and winding process. In the 1980s, many of Lawrence's works were translated and published one after another, laying a foundation for research on Lawrence in China and leading to an increase in academic papers on him. Since the 1990s, not only have all ten of Lawrence's long novels and most of his short stories been translated into Chinese, but also his poetry, essays, (notes), literary theory, correspondence, and biographies on Lawrence have been successively translated and published in China, sparking a research boom on Lawrence. The publication of academic monographs by Chinese scholars on Lawrence, the holding of academic conferences on Lawrence research, the establishment of Lawrence study societies and research centers—all these are fruits of the research boom on Lawrence in China.
