Features: The name "Suiyuan" for this series of works originates from the former campus of Nanjing Normal University, which was expanded upon the site of the former Jinling Women's College. This location is situated on the eastern slopes of Qingliang Mountain and the western foot of Xiaocang Mountain in Nanjing City. Historical research confirms that it was the site of the "Suiyuan" of Yuan Mei, a renowned Qing Dynasty literary figure. Although the original "Suiyuan" has long been lost to history, Yuan Mei's work "Suiyuan Shi Hua" (Poetry Talks from Suiyuan) has remained widely celebrated. Young university students often proudly refer to themselves as "Suiyuan Scholars." In the past, the "Suiyuan" was a renowned garden with pavilions, terraces, and towers, considered one of the finest in China; today, the campus buildings are adorned with intricate carvings and paintings, earning the title of "the Most Beautiful Campus in East Asia." It is evident that the name "Suiyuan" carries so much cultural significance! Naming this series of works "Suiyuan" not only evokes a sense of nostalgia for the past but also conveys the desire for lasting legacy. Moreover, it embodies the spirit of future scholars, which is truly commendable!
The works included in the "Young Scholars' Collection" are primarily the outstanding contributions of young scholars under the age of 40 from our university. They are currently striving to overcome challenges, knowing that progress requires perseverance. Publishing their works undoubtedly provides a boost to their endeavors. While their works may not yet match the refinement, depth, and sharpness of the "Suiyuan" series, they dare to establish their own unique perspectives and set their own academic flags. In today's era of increasing calls for knowledge innovation, their efforts align perfectly with the times and represent the future of academic prosperity. They are the hope of the university's academic development. The next generation of academic giants will emerge from among them.
