Liushiru Collection

Author: (Qing) Liu Shiyi, compiled by Zhou Shutian
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2002-03-01
Features: This book is divided into two parts, each forming a separate volume. The upper part consists of Liu Shiyi's poems and writings, while the lower part contains related documents. The upper part is based on fine copies, with version notes included at the beginning of each volume for reference. The lower part extensively cites ancient texts, using existing written materials. Every character or phrase is clearly attributed; if a cited work appears multiple times, an asterisk () indicates that the original work is unavailable, while the cited source is marked as "." The base texts used often contain variant characters or spellings, which are preserved as closely as possible to maintain authenticity. Citations are roughly checked, with added words marked in [ ] and extra words in 《》 verified by Chen Zilong and Xie Sanbin's poems. Works related to Liu Shi are collected according to Chen Zilong's views, forming separate volumes. Paintings, calligraphy, and artifacts by Liu Shi are included whenever available, for reference rather than scholarly analysis. As mentioned in the preface, this book is essentially an appendix to 《》—hence, events related to Liu Shi found in Qian Qianyi's collected works are excluded. At the end of the upper part, Chen Yinque's poem is appended as a token of respect.
