Features: The violin is a very beautiful and expressive string instrument. Learning it can cultivate temperament and develop intelligence, making it increasingly popular among children and adolescents in China and creating a wave of interest in learning the violin. After research and comparison, I sincerely hope to publish this scientifically, systematically, and concise set of "Selected Preliminary Exercises for Violin" in China. I wish to publish and promote these exercises in China because they are based on modern violin teaching principles, follow scientific training steps, and have carefully selected from existing exercises. The outstanding exercises selected have been systematically and meticulously arranged, enabling students to master the basic techniques of violin playing more quickly and firmly.
The first volume of this set includes 19 simple preparatory exercises, 66 position exercises, and 15 simple double-stop exercises at the end. The second volume contains 72 preparatory exercises for shifting positions. If you dedicate two to three years to diligently practicing this set of exercises, you will lay a solid foundation for further study of exercises by Mazas, Dont, Kreutzer, and others.
Additionally, I believe that precise intonation, strict rhythm, and rich tone production are the basic requirements for playing the violin well. Therefore, from the very beginning of learning this set of exercises, we must strive to meet these basic requirements. To help beginners achieve these goals better, Shanghai Music Publishing House has specially published audio cassettes accompanying these two volumes of exercises.
