Features: The characteristics of the entire series are very clear. First, it is comprehensive and rich in content. The Complete Works includes 19 types of Wei Yuan's works such as Poetry of Ancient Microcosm, Book of Ancient Microcosm, Four Books of Ancient Microcosm Hall, Original Meaning of the Laozi, Annals of Holy War, Illustrated Maps of Coastal Nations, New Edition of the History of the Yuan Dynasty, Four Sutras of Pure Land, and their poetic and prose collections. In addition, it also includes The Imperial Dynasty's Compilation of Governance Essays and Brief Notes on Huaibei Salt that Wei Yuan was responsible for editing, as well as biographical materials, chronicles, and travel maps related to Wei Yuan. It can be said that nothing is left out. Second, the base texts are carefully selected, and the editing and proofreading are meticulous. Since most of the original proofreaders have passed away, many manuscripts were either unfinished or poorly completed due to improper personnel allocation. We either rehired people to proofread or edited them ourselves, followed by expert review. Through repeated refinement and verification of the base texts, we ensured the meticulous quality of the editing and proofreading. Therefore, the Complete Works truly embodies the efforts of the proofreaders, reviewers, and editors, and can be said to be the crystallization of the painstaking efforts of several generations of scholars. Third, the format is rigorous, the layout is spacious, and the printing is exquisite. The editing of this series follows a detailed working specification with strict regulations on the writing of annotations, standardization of text, use of punctuation marks, layout, fonts, and font sizes. For example, the use of "book title marks" is considered by experts during review to be a standard that can be promoted for horizontal-arranged ancient books. The Shenzhen Zhonghua Commercial Union Printing Co., Ltd., responsible for printing this book, also operated with meticulous care and proper management to ensure that the printing quality reached a high level.
