This book is a compilation of the authors' experiences gained over many years of field collection, teaching, and identification of traditional Chinese medicines, based on photographs of the original plants and references to numerous books. This atlas includes 132 species of medicinal plants from southern China, categorized as follows: 29 species of roots and rhizomes, 33 species of stems, woods, bark, and leaves, 8 species of flowers, 15 species of fruits and seeds, and 47 species of entire herbs. It features over 130 color photographs. Each plant medicine is accompanied by its common names, the source of the original plant, its primary identifying features, growth environment, main production areas, and methods of collection and processing.
