Features: This book includes the results of experimental research and numerical simulation studies on spur dike. It is divided into eight chapters.
Chapter 1, Overview, introduces the research background and the main content of the book.
Chapter 2, Visualization Experimental Research on Near-Body Flow of Spur Dike. It introduces the measurement methods of visualization experiments, and studies the recirculation structures near the spur dike and near the bed using dye tracing and oil film methods. A point velocity meter is used to measure the three-dimensional flow field near the spur dike.
Chapter 3, Introduction to the Control Equations and Model Methods of Three-Dimensional Turbulent Models. It summarizes the main characteristics of various turbulent models and focuses on analyzing the prediction capabilities of the standard k-ε model, Zhu-Shihk-ε model, Speziale-Thangam's RNG model, Launder-Kato's k-ε model, and the nonlinear model developed by Shih et al. for the separation flow of the spur dike.
Chapter 4, Numerical Discretization Methods and Solutions of Three-Dimensional Turbulent Models. It details the discretization process of the three-dimensional turbulent equations using the finite volume method, where the convection term is treated with the improved QUICK scheme. The velocity-pressure coupling in the discretized equations is solved using the classical SIMPLE scheme, and the resulting algebraic equation system has a tridiagonal coefficient matrix, which can be solved iteratively.
Chapter 5, Establishment of a Three-Dimensional Turbulent Model for Simulating the Flow near the Spur Dike.
Chapter 6, Establishment of a Sediment Model for Simulating and Analyzing the Erosion and Deposition of the Riverbed near the Spur Dike.
Chapter 7, Overview of the General Flow Characteristics of Spur Dike Water Flow and the Relationship between Design Parameters and Flow Characteristics. It focuses on analyzing the relationship between parameters such as the length of the spur dike, the spacing between spur dike groups, and submergence depth with flow characteristics. It also briefly introduces the role of spur dike as an ecological engineering measure for river regulation in recent years, used to improve fish habitats and provide diversified flow conditions.
