What should I do about irregular periods with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)?

Patient's question:

I haven't had my period, and there's dark brown blood flowing between my legs. It started in mid-October and lasted for more than ten days, with a small amount each day. I used sanitary pads. I went to the hospital for a thorough check-up and ultrasound. The doctor said it was polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can disrupt menstruation, among other things. He advised me to use medication first, and then prescribed Clindamycin Palmitate Dispersible Tablets and Yesan Granules. I took it for two days, and the bleeding stopped. After that, I stopped taking the medication. A few days later, it started bleeding again. I thought it was my period, but it wasn't. Then I bought Vitamin E to take. A few days later, the bleeding stopped, so I didn't pay much attention to it (I've been taking Vitamin E all along). However, on November 28th, the dark brown blood started flowing again between my legs again!! I don't even know what to do anymore. It's still happening today.

Doctor's answer:

It is recommended to undergo a six-item hormone test to rule out polycystic ovary syndrome. In terms of treatment, it is advised to take short-term birth control pills. Options include Marvelon, Yasmin, or Diane-35. Take one pill every 8 hours, three times a day. After the bleeding stops, start increasing the dosage, adding one-third of the previous dose each time. Reduce the dose by one-third every three days until it is reduced to one pill, which will be the maintenance dose. From the time the bleeding stops, start counting a total of 20 days and then stop taking the medication.
