When is an ultrasound performed after a D&C procedure for endometrial hyperplasia?

Patient's question:

Just had a hysteroscopy, and a D&C was performed for endometrial hyperplasia. Yesterday, when the doctor reviewed the ultrasound report, they mentioned that they were unsure if they heard correctly—apparently, they said the ultrasound should be done during menstruation? When should an ultrasound follow-up be done after a hysteroscopy—should it be during menstruation or after menstruation has ended?

Doctor's answer:

If the endometrium is fibrotic, it is generally recommended to have a B examination before menstruation to understand the thickness of the endometrium. If it differs from the normal thickness of the endometrium during the menstrual cycle, a B examination can also be performed after menstruation if necessary. The cyclical shedding of the endometrium results in menstruation. After menstruation is clean, the endometrium is thinnest. Then it gradually grows to its thickest point before menstruation, and then sheds.
