Can fallopian tube blockage be treated?

Patient's question:

After several years of marriage, we have always been living in our own little world. We wanted to add a member to our family and planned to have a baby this year. However, a problem arose. During the pre-pregnancy checkup, I was told that I have blocked fallopian tubes, which makes it very difficult to conceive. It was like a bolt from the blue. I find it hard to understand. I had always been chaste before, but now I have this disease. Can blocked fallopian tubes be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Women may experience tubal blockage due to repeated tubal inflammation or tubal hydrops leading to tubal adhesion. Generally, tubal blockage often requires tubal contrast examination for diagnosis. If the tubal blockage is complete, it can be relieved, and one can consider using a combined laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for dilation. After dilation, it is important to conceive and get pregnant as soon as possible to prevent re-adhesion and blockage of the fallopian tubes. For cases where the fallopian tubes are partially blocked, one can consider tubal hydrotubation for dilation.
