Features: The Pearl River Delta, flowing upstream from the Pearl River estuary, is flanked by the lush, verdant Pearl River Delta spanning approximately 11,000 square kilometers. It is a composite delta formed by the Xijiang, Beijiang, and Dongjiang river deltas. In a broad sense, the Pearl River Delta is defined by the vertices of Gaoyao, Qingyuan, and Huizhou; in a narrow sense, it extends from Sanshui in the west to Shilong in the east and to Yamen in the south, forming a hilly delta developed within a bay, with an average elevation of around 50 meters. On this triangular plain located south of Guangzhou, hills are scattered, river channels crisscross, sugarcane is sweet, fish are abundant, mulberry leaves are tender, and silkworms thrive. This is one of the most densely populated regions in the country. For a long time, the hardworking people of the delta have lived, developed, and built here, making it a nationally renowned "land of fish and rice," "mulberry and silk," "sugarcane," and "fruits, vegetables, and flowers."
