Features: This book is divided into 13 chapters, each including two parts: methods and materials. The methods and materials described are both widely used and those currently under research or trial. The book avoids excessive mathematical derivations in its treatment of theoretical issues, focusing instead on the introduction of principles and concepts. In addition to the necessary theoretical foundations, different chapters from various perspectives highlight the applications of theories such as hydration and coordination. Non-equilibrium processes and an introduction to fractal geometry are also introduced into the book. To more comprehensively understand the complexity of water quality caused by pollution, the chapter "Water Pollution and Water Quality" comprehensively introduces the structure of water, pollutants, water quality, water quality standards, and water quality control methods. The water treatment methods in the book primarily focus on oxidation, adsorption, ion exchange, coagulation, and membrane separation, while also introducing some new methods such as advanced biological treatment, electromagnetic field treatment, and ultrasonic treatment. The complexity of water quality leads to diverse water treatment methods and the combination of multiple methods, which are covered in the separate chapter "Multicomponent System." To prevent changes in water quality during storage, transportation, and application, measures to stabilize water quality need to be taken. The chapter "Water Quality Stabilization" introduces the current applications of scale inhibition, corrosion inhibition, deoxygenation, and sterilization. The development of traditional water treatment materials primarily relies on empirical methods, resulting in a long industrialization cycle. The computer-aided design and development of water treatment materials is still in its early stages, but it will develop rapidly. The last chapter of the book briefly mentions this.
