Features: This book is compiled based on reviewing the latest international materials and combining with the actual conditions of our country. To address the problems more directly, facilitate analysis of causes, diagnosis, and prevention, the book is organized according to common clinical symptoms encountered in production. The entire book is divided into 16 chapters: Introduction, Abortion, Death of Ewes Before and After Parturition, Perinatal Death of Lambs, Poor Growth, Anemia and Jaundice, Diarrhea, Abdominal Distension, Abdominal Pain, and Tenesmus, Respiratory Diseases, Behavioral Changes and Neurological Disorders, Hair Loss and Skin Diseases, Breast Diseases, Oral Diseases, Lameness, Sudden Death, etc., covering most of the problems commonly encountered in sheep farming. In each chapter, the common causes of symptoms, diagnosis, and prevention measures are described separately. In terms of causes, to avoid confusion and unnecessarily increase diagnostic difficulty, some rarely occurring or minor loss diseases are not included. In terms of diagnosis, commonly used, simple methods and techniques are primarily adopted. In terms of prevention and treatment, advanced and effective methods are used as much as possible. Some diseases are relatively severe abroad but have not yet occurred in China. With the increasing frequency of trade and exchanges, the risk of introduction into China cannot be ignored. For this reason, the book also describes such diseases. To enhance the practicality of the book, an appendix is provided with common abbreviations, standard reference values, sheep disease diagnostic procedures, post-mortem examination procedures, sampling and submission methods, sheep immunity and diagnostic biological products, and commonly used drugs for sheep disease prevention and treatment. This book is primarily aimed at extensive veterinary and animal husbandry workers, breeding units, and farmers, and can also serve as a reference for research, teaching personnel in veterinary and animal husbandry, and students. During the writing process, we strive to ensure that the content is applicable and the language is concise, aiming to meet practical needs, solve specific problems, and cater to the needs of different audiences. However, due to limited expertise, errors and omissions are inevitable. We sincerely hope that experts and readers will provide criticism and corrections. The entire book is divided into 16 chapters: Introduction, Abortion, Death of Ewes Before and After Parturition, Perinatal Death of Lambs, Poor Growth, Anemia and Jaundice, Respiratory Diseases, Sudden Death, etc.
