Features: China is a country with numerous lakes, and lake water resources are China's most important renewable freshwater resources. Currently, China is carrying out comprehensive management of lake eutrophication, with particular emphasis on the pollution control programs for the "Three Lakes" (Chaohu, Taihu, and Dianchi), which are major initiatives in China's water environment management during the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" period. However, China needs a set of mature technologies for lake environmental management and should learn from the successful experiences of developed countries such as Europe, America, and Japan. To this end, the State Environmental Protection Administration hosted the Advanced International Academic Conference on Lake Eutrophication and Prevention in China, inviting renowned domestic and international lake experts and professors to provide consultation and guidance on lake eutrophication and its control technologies in China. The conference conducted in-depth and detailed discussions on the following issues:
1. New achievements and theories in international research on lake eutrophication;
2. Key technologies for controlling lake eutrophication;
3. Lake environmental management technologies;
4. Strategies for controlling lake eutrophication;
5. Consultation on China's lake eutrophication and prevention efforts.
