Can a woman get pregnant if she has sex during menopause?

Patient's question:

I'm 48 this year, and I just stopped menstruating last month. Every time I had sex with my husband, I didn't take any contraceptive measures. Can I get pregnant after stopping menstruation and having sex?

Doctor's answer:

If you have already experienced menopause and are 48 years old, this indicates that you have entered ovarian decline, and you will no longer experience menopause. At this stage, sexual intercourse is virtually impossible to result in pregnancy, although it cannot be guaranteed 100%, as there is a very small possibility for some individuals. Under normal circumstances, once menopause occurs, it will not recur. After the rise in estrogen and progesterone, follicles cannot be formed, mature, or released.
