Features: Housing serves as the place where humans live and carry out various activities, and safety is essential. Factors directly affecting safety, apart from the structure of the house, include the damage caused by various disasters. Among all disasters, the most frequent is fire, while the most destructive is earthquakes. Additionally, there are floods, lightning strikes, explosions, and many other aspects. Architectural design must be "human-centered," not only meeting the safety of the building itself but also focusing on preventing various frequent disasters. The Chinese government has successively promulgated laws and regulations such as the Fire Protection Law and the Earthquake Disaster Reduction Law, enforcing them strictly, reflecting the Party and the state's care for the people and their determination to reduce material losses caused by disasters. This book was once used as a teaching material for architecture majors in architectural universities. The purpose of the course was to enhance students' awareness of disaster prevention and reduction, enable them to flexibly apply relevant codes, and guide engineering design. In recent years, national codes and regulations related to building disaster prevention have undergone significant revisions and supplements. To adapt to the current situation and keep pace with the times, the author has made substantial revisions and adjustments to the original material according to the new regulations, focusing primarily on basic provisions and structural measures while adding a large amount of new content. In addition to continuing to serve as a textbook for fire protection in architecture, this book can also be used as a reference for architectural professionals.
