Can you get pregnant with a follicular cyst?

Patient's question:

Recently, after having sex with my husband, I felt some discomfort in my vagina. So, I went to the hospital for an ultrasound examination. The doctor told me I have follicular cysts and prescribed many medications for treatment. Now, I also want to have a child with my husband, so I would like to ask if it's possible to get pregnant with follicular cysts?

Doctor's answer:

Ovarian cysts can affect pregnancy, but the interference is not significant. Ovarian cysts are divided into physiological and pathological types. If the cyst is physiological, it can be resolved. You can choose to have a follow-up ultrasound after the next menstrual period is clean. If the cyst grows or disappears, it indicates a physiological cyst. If the cyst does not disappear or grows, the possibility of a pathological cyst is relatively high, and medication may be needed for treatment.
