Features: This book adopts a new research method, namely the unification of philosophical terms, as its fundamental methodology. Based on studies of the history of Western philosophical thought and the history of philosophical term translation, it proposes a series of interconnected new philosophical viewpoints, including:
- Strictly distinguishing between practical problems and peripheral areas;
- The philosophical core encompasses three parts: ontology, semiotics, and epistemology;
- Ontology should be the basic level theory;
- A new four-element ontology is proposed, comprising the object world, symbol world, thought world, and imagination world;
- In the field of semiotics, it argues that symbols arise from naming, with their fundamental principles being the principle of differentiation and the principle of economy;
- In the field of epistemology, it proposes that perception and cognition should be strictly distinguished, that the subjects and objects of perception and cognition should be differentiated, that the object of cognition can only be laws, and that there are five basic types of laws in total.
Through these efforts, the book aims to make philosophical research scientific, as a bold attempt to transcend various Western philosophical thoughts.
