Postoperative skin peeling accompanied by abdominal and back pain - what is the issue?

Patient's question:

Three to four days after the surgery, there was very little peeling. By the 10th day after the surgery, peeling had started again on the body. On the 14th day after the surgery, the amount of bleeding suddenly increased. Since the peeling had already started, there had been persistent abdominal and waist pain. I don't know if this is because my period is about to come or if the surgery wasn't cleaned properly? How should this situation be resolved?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, vaginal bleeding after a miscarriage can be expected to stop within about a week, but it should not last longer than two weeks. Currently, there is a high possibility that the miscarriage was incomplete. If there is still vaginal bleeding with broken skin 14 days after an induced abortion, the possibility of residual tissue in the uterine cavity cannot be ruled out. It is recommended to undergo a follow-up ultrasound examination at the hospital. If residual tissue is found in the uterine cavity, a D&C (dilation and curettage) may be necessary. If no residual tissue is present, oral medication can be taken to promote the expulsion of blood clots from the uterine cavity.
