Wondering how to treat cervical erosion?

Patient's question:

Over the past six months, there has been an increase in white discharge from the groin area, which is yellow in color and sometimes contains blood streaks. Intercourse can be painful, and there may be minor bleeding after the act. The external genital area also frequently aches, and there is a strong urge to scratch it. At times, there is also a burning sensation. Additionally, there is frequent urination. A thorough examination at the hospital revealed cervical erosion, which has progressed to degree II.

Doctor's answer:

Okay! Cervical erosion is often caused by factors such as childbirth, miscarriage, and other uterine cavity operations; the tail thread of an intrauterine device (IUD) affecting the cervix; differences in individual hormone levels; and chronic inflammation, among others. For its treatment, the first step is to perform a cervical smear to rule out precancerous lesions. Then, a pathogenological examination of cervical secretions should be conducted to diagnose which pathogen is responsible. If necessary, pathogen culture + drug sensitivity testing can be performed to determine the most sensitive medications for treatment. Drug treatment includes local and systemic medications. However, for moderate to severe cervical erosion, physical treatment is generally more effective.
