How to treat cervical erosion with medication?

Patient's question:

Contact bleeding for one or two years, the hospital conducted a thorough examination and said that there was cervical erosion on 1/2 of the surface with dilated blood vessels. Other gynecological leukorrhea and blood were normal, TCT and HPV were normal with less than 50% inflammation. However, the doctor suggested that I undergo heat therapy. I asked if medication could be used instead, and the doctor said it was not possible because of the dilated blood vessels. I would like to ask if heat therapy is necessary? Can medication be used instead?

Doctor's answer:

Sexual contact with broken skin is related to cervical erosion, and the cause of erosion is due to long-term effects of chronic inflammation in the vagina and locally on the cervix, leading to mucosal damage. Currently, HPV and TCT screenings are normal, which proves there is no tissue inflammation. Since cervical erosion is relatively prominent locally, the area may be congested. Therefore, topical medication for anti-inflammatory treatment can be applied initially, or local medication can be used for anti-inflammation. In severe cases, surgery may be performed to repair the local mucosa. Cervical erosion is a condition that is difficult to heal. Patients should maintain a positive attitude and face it with optimism, as this can boost their confidence in combating cervical erosion and increase the likelihood of recovery.
