Features: This book is a (memoir-biography) by Liu Shun, the chief journalist of Xinhua News Agency in the Middle East, based on his four exclusive interviews with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from 1988 to 2000. This leader, who wielded a gun in one hand and an olive branch in the other, was always a target of Israeli intelligence assassinations. The leader was also an ordinary person—"the lifelong bachelor Arafat finally married in his sixties." The next question is whether Middle Eastern peace can be achieved by the time he reaches his seventies? And who will succeed Arafat? This book reveals many little-known behind-the-scenes secrets.
