Is degree 2 cervical erosion serious?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, is my condition serious? Since it involves professional terminology, ordinary people like us don't understand it! Besides suppositories, how often should they be used? Before or after menstruation? Can we have sex during the use of suppositories?

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion is also known as cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) now. Most patients are asymptomatic, and cervical lesions are often discovered during routine gynecological examinations. Symptomatic patients primarily exhibit increased vaginal discharge. Additionally, a very small number of patients may experience post-coital vaginal bleeding.
Gynecological examination: Based on cervical erosion, followed by cervical hypertrophy. In some cases, the cervix appears smooth with no positive findings upon examination. Grade 2 erosion is not considered severe, but treatment is still necessary. Follow-up testing should be performed within one year. Apply the (: suppository) once nightly, preferably in conjunction with external washing of the vulva. A course of treatment typically lasts about one month. Medication can be started three days after the menstrual period ends, and sexual activity can resume.
