Is it normal for severe cervical erosion not to discharge secretions?

Patient's question:

I have severe cervical erosion. I had microwave treatment yesterday. The doctor said that after the procedure, there should be white or light red discharge for about a week. However, since yesterday, I haven't expelled any discharge. Only a little white discharge came out yesterday. Is this normal, or is it necessary to have discharge for it to be considered normal? Thank you!

Doctor's answer:

After microwave treatment, increased vaginal discharge, discharge, yellow leucorrhea, purulent leucorrhea, or even bloody discharge may reappear within 1-2 weeks. Generally, it takes about 1 month for the discharge to gradually increase, which is a normal phenomenon. Most women will experience these reactions after treatment, but not every woman will have them reappear, and the timing can vary.
If the discharge has no odor, no fever, and no thickened or broken skin, there is no need to worry. It is important to maintain cleanliness in the external genital area and avoid washing the vaginal interior. Riding a bicycle is strictly prohibited for 2 weeks. Bathing and sexual activity are forbidden for 2 months. A follow-up examination at the hospital is required 2 months after the surgery.
If vaginal bleeding after treatment is less than the menstrual flow, it is necessary to undergo a thorough examination at the hospital.
