Is this ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

I had my period on March 26th and it ended on April 1st. On April 4th, I had sex with my boyfriend, but took emergency contraception afterward. However, I had another period on April 16th, which was very light and still hasn't stopped yet. I've started experiencing abdominal pain and occasional nausea and dizziness. Could this be an ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

The clinical manifestations of ectopic pregnancy first involve a history of missed periods. In the early stages, there are no obvious abnormalities. If the ectopic pregnancy cyst ruptures, early symptoms may include only a very small amount of vaginal bleeding that flows continuously, accompanied by mild abdominal pain. If ectopic pregnancy occurs in the late stage, there will be severe abdominal pain, intra-abdominal bleeding, leading to shock, and endangering life. For severe cases of ectopic pregnancy, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible and follow the doctor's advice for timely treatment. Avoid using medication blindly to prevent worsening the condition.
