Patient's question:
More than two months ago, I had surgery, and we got back into bed after about 40 days. Now, my illness has returned. I have also had an abortion before. Can I still have surgery? Can I recover well by taking traditional Chinese medicine? What should I do about severe cervical erosion?Doctor's answer:
Cervical erosion is classified into mild, moderate, and severe based on the size of the erosion area. If it is severe cervical erosion, the first step is to perform cervical cancer screening, which typically involves a cervical TCT and HPV test. TCT is also known as Thinprep Cytology, and HPV stands for Human Papillomavirus. These two tests are usually conducted routinely to screen for cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. If these tests show no signs of cervical cancer or precancerous lesions, simple erosion can also be physiological or pathological. Therefore, for severe cervical erosion, cancer screening should be performed first. If the cancer screening results are normal, medication alone will not be effective for severe erosion. Laser treatment, electrocoagulation therapy, or cryotherapy can be considered. Post-treatment, medication should be supplemented, such as using Baofukang suppositories for auxiliary treatment.
