Does cervical erosion affect pregnancy?

Patient's question:

Before the divorce, I had cervical erosion, but it was only mild. However, after the divorce, I found it had worsened, and I am currently pregnant. The doctor said that cervical erosion can easily lead to miscarriage, and I am very worried. I don’t want to lose this child.

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion is the most common pathological change of chronic cervical inflammation. The main symptom is an increase in vaginal discharge. Diagnosis can be confirmed through a doctor's general examination and clinical symptoms. Physical therapy is the most effective treatment for cervical erosion, including laser therapy, cryotherapy, infrared coagulation therapy, and microwave therapy. Radiofrequency ablation is the latest treatment method. Before treatment, a routine cervical smear cytology examination should be performed. The treatment time should be scheduled 3 to 7 days after the menstrual cycle ends. After various physical therapies, there may be an increase in vaginal discharge, or even large amounts of watery discharge. Some bleeding may occur during the desquamation period of 1 to 2 weeks post-surgery.
