"Collected Rare Formulas" consists of two volumes. It was compiled by Wu Shichang (Baqian), a native of Jiangxia during the Qing Dynasty, and edited by Eqi Shan from Changbai. The book is organized into twenty-seven categories, primarily recording prescriptions and treatments for common ailments such as head and face, hair, ears and eyes, mouth and nose, teeth, throat and esophagus, heart and stomach, dysphagia, cough and phlegm, spleen and stomach, blood disorders, swelling, dysentery, malaria, paralysis, hernia, heatstroke, cold damage, hemorrhoids, injuries, acute skin infections, health preservation, tonics, gynecological issues, miscellaneous, and general treatments. At the end, it includes empirical secret formulas, with a total of approximately 8,000 treatment principles and over 800 types of formulas.
"Formulas for Rare Illnesses" is a single volume compiled by Wang Yuan from Jingling during the Qing Dynasty. It mainly describes certain rare and bizarre illnesses and their treatments.
