Features: I had long heard the great name of, knowing him to be a fierce and tenacious Napoleonic and Patton-style general. After's election victory in February 2001, I conceived the idea of writing his biography. This was because Israel is a mysterious and enigmatic country. With a population of only 4.882 million and an area of only 19,400 square kilometers according to the UN Partition Plan in 1947, it has gradually expanded, yet its actual controlled area remains only 28,000 square kilometers. It is a tiny, insignificant nation, yet it has defeated numerous Arab countries in five Middle Eastern wars and become a country with significant influence on the Middle East and even the world in matters of war and peace. As the Prime Minister of this country, must have unique qualities, making it necessary to reveal this mystery to readers.
Shalon rose from a small squad leader in the Israel Defense Forces to the highest position of Prime Minister. Over the years, he was nurtured and supported by renowned Israeli leaders such as Ben-Gurion, Moshe Dayan, Ehud Barak, Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin, and Menachem Begin, gradually transforming from a military commander into an Israeli leader. Therefore, is different from other politicians. He entered politics in a unique military manner, earning the nickname "Israel's Caesar" for his authoritarian and irascible nature, and "the Furious Bull" or "the Political Bulldozer" for his mocking, cursing, and threatening treatment of political opponents. However, is not just a brute force. People have discovered that whether in the parliament, the government, or at the negotiation table, always displays the demeanor of a seasoned general, fighting against political opponents as if commanding an army in battle. He is both radical and astute, both tough and smooth, an experienced and highly skilled leader, earning the title "veteran of the political arena." This makes him a unique leader on the current political stage, and both friends and enemies must understand him to engage with him smoothly.
Shalon's fame is also closely tied to his unique military thought and combat style. His military philosophy is unorthodox and creative. His war philosophy is: "Only victory, only forward, no retreat, no compromise." His method of leading troops is not "Charge!" but "Follow me!" His subordinates are all willing to fight under his command.
Shalon participated in five Middle Eastern wars and countless military operations. Due to his bravery and tactical acumen, he advanced the tactics of rapid strikes and tank warfare to new heights, achieving the vast majority of victories. His battlefield record is outstanding, and he is hailed as the "God of Desert Warfare" and a "genius of his generation." Therefore,'s strategic tactics and military style have become key research topics for military institutions and academies worldwide, offering many lessons worth learning.
The author's goal in this book is to present a real, three-dimensional. Over the years, different people have had completely opposite opinions of. Arabs view as an unforgivable sinner, calling him a butcher, demon, and "Beirut butcher." Western media refer to him as a "troublemaker" or a "chameleon." During the writing process, the author referred to the extensive battlefield reports of Israeli journalist Uri Ben-Zman and Chinese journalists Liu Shun, Ma Xiaolin, and others, with significant support from Israel experts Chen Shuangqing, Zhang Chaoyi, and Xia Di.
