Not menstruating and abnormal vaginal discharge

Patient's question:

My period hasn't come for half a month. During this time, there was sexual intercourse. In the middle of the month (although my periods have never been very regular, but I felt it should be coming), there was a continuous increase in abnormal leukorrhea, which was brown in color and had a bad odor. Others said it might be a vaginal infection. Later, some menstrual discharge was also excreted, and one day there was a slight trace of blood. Except for the absence of menstruation, there are no other early pregnancy symptoms. Why hasn't my period come and is my leukorrhea abnormal?

Doctor's answer:

If the white discharge is brown and has an odor, it is usually considered to be vaginitis. To confirm the specific type of vaginitis, a white discharge test needs to be conducted. However, if the menstrual period is delayed for a relatively long time, it is generally considered to be pregnancy. It is recommended to take an early pregnancy test or have an ultrasound examination first. If pregnancy is not confirmed, a gynecological examination should be performed. Avoid self-medicating.
There are several treatment methods for abnormal white discharge, but since the symptoms of patients differ, the treatment methods used will also vary. Therefore, patients need to be diagnosed as soon as possible to receive appropriate treatment.
