Patient's question:
Doctor, I currently have two things that make me unsure of what to do. One is that I just had a gynecological examination because of physical discomfort, and the results carefully checked that I have cervical inflammation. The other is that I am currently in a good time for conception, and my family and I all hope that I can have a child.Doctor's answer:
Whether cervical inflammation can lead to pregnancy is also related to pelvic inflammatory disease. When a woman suffers from cervical inflammation, due to unnoticed or delayed diagnosis, the inflammation may spread to the pelvic cavity, leading to secondary pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common cause of female infertility, especially chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, which often manifests as bilateral tubal inflammation. Over time, the openings of the fallopian tubes, particularly the distal end that receives the egg (known as the fimbriae), may partially or completely become sealed. It can also cause adhesions in the inner lining of the fallopian tubes due to inflammation, narrowing or sealing the lumen. This disrupts the passage of eggs, sperm, or fertilized eggs, resulting in infertility.
