What should be done about cervical polyps?

Patient's question:

Over a month ago, I went to the hospital because of excessive leukorrhea and external genital itching. After a thorough examination, they said it was a cervical polyp. After the surgery, the leukorrhea is still excessive, and I don't know why. What should I do about cervical polyps?

Doctor's answer:

Common causes of increased leukorrhea:
1. During candidal vulvovaginitis, leukorrhea is yellow or white, mostly viscous in texture, sometimes thin, and typically appears as cottage cheese-like or creamy clumps.
2. In trichomoniasis, leukorrhea is thin and purulent, yellow, foamy, or like dirty water, grayish-white, with a foul odor.
3. With cervical erosion, leukorrhea is usually yellow, viscous like mucus, and mostly odorless.
4. In gonorrhea, leukorrhea is yellow and purulent.
5. During endometritis or other pelvic inflammatory diseases, leukorrhea may also increase continuously, turning yellow and thin, often accompanied by abdominal pain.
