Features: This book includes three aspects of content. Part 1 introduces rule-based natural language processing techniques, starting from the levels of grammar and semantics. Part 2 introduces statistical natural language processing techniques, including statistical language models at the lexical level and probabilistic context-free grammars at the syntactic level. Part 3 introduces an important application—machine translation, covering its theory and implementation from both rule-based and statistical perspectives. This book includes three aspects of content. Part 1 introduces rule-based natural language processing techniques, starting from the levels of grammar and semantics. First, several formal representation schemes for grammar systems are introduced. On this basis, several typical context-free syntactic analysis methods and syntactic analysis methods based on complex features are introduced. At the semantic level, methods for word-sense and sentence-sense analysis are introduced at the levels of word meaning and sentence meaning. Part 2 introduces statistical natural language processing techniques, including statistical language models at the lexical level and probabilistic context-free grammars at the syntactic level. Part 3 introduces an important application—machine translation, covering its theory and implementation from both rule-based and statistical perspectives.
