Impressionist painting masters

Features: The selection of painters in this book is somewhat arbitrary and not solely based on the author's personal preferences. I chose Monet but did not include Sisley or Morisot; there is Renoir, but neither Millet nor Corot; there is Sickler but not Steil; Courbet and Manet are merely mentioned. All these painters are respected by me, and I also want to evaluate them fairly. If my discussion on this issue is enthusiastic but somewhat disorganized, it can only be said that I conduct research in my spare time from painting; my research on these painters is not thorough, and the materials I have collected are far from sufficient—not to say that these materials do not exist. They are not innovators, nor do they want to be. They look at their predecessors in the art world with admiration, respect them, but they insist on one thing: they want to find the expression of their perception beyond existing formulas. Their names are Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Manet, Cézanne, Degas, Constable, etc.
