Features: The publication of Selected Works of Wang Tieya is not only a for his 80th birthday but also a significant celebration for the international law community in China. The international law essays included in this Selected Works date back to 1933, nearly 60 years ago, while the emergence of academic papers on international law in China, since the May Fourth Movement, is still less than 80 years old. Therefore, the publication of this Selected Works is also a major milestone in the development of international law in China. This Selected Works is merely a collection and not the entirety of Professor Wang Tieya's works on international law. It not only reflects his academic achievements and contributions but also his scholarly approach. In the article A Brief Discussion on the Study and Writing of International Law, included in this Selected Works, he proposes the fundamental requirements for scientific papers, emphasizing the need to distinguish between political articles on international law and academic articles. Although the former is meaningful and sometimes important, the two cannot be equated. This Selected Works does not include his published political articles on international law but only academic papers. This Selected Works also highlights Professor Wang Tieya's significant contributions to contemporary international law in China.
