Patient's question:
The cycle is about 28 days. I have seen many doctors. Last month, the doctor said I needed a diagnostic (D&C) and also had an IUD removal surgery. The pathology results showed endometrial gland fibrosis, fibrotic glandular epithelium with pseudostratification, and mild cellular atypia. Macroscopic findings: A grayish-black irregular mass, size V: 1.5x1.0x0.5 cm. Pathological diagnosis: Endometrial hyperplasia. I looked up some information and it's quite serious. They might need to remove my uterus—is that very dangerous? I am 35 years old. I would like to ask the doctors, is this condition treatable? What kind of help I am looking for: How should it be treated, through medication or surgery?Doctor's answer:
Endometrial hyperplasia can first be treated with medication for symptomatic relief, and the endometrium may return to normal. You are 35 years old, and simple endometrial hyperplasia can be treated first with progesterone during the second half of the menstrual cycle. Continue this treatment for 3-6 cycles. After stopping the medication, have another diagnostic (D&C). If the endometrium is normal, continue with the above treatment. If the condition does not improve after repeated treatments, it is recommended to undergo a hysterectomy. Wishing the patient a speedy recovery!
