Features: Criminal Law: Specific Provisions is one of the series for the 21st century by the Law School of Xiamen University. Over the years, through extensive research and surveys, we have summarized the teaching experience of criminal law specific provisions. Through repeated discussions and revisions, we have compiled this textbook. This textbook is a crystallization of collective wisdom. The contributors have offered suggestions and strived to present the latest research findings, enriching the content of the book. The features of this textbook are as follows:
First, it emphasizes the applied nature of criminal law. Criminal law is an applied discipline, and therefore, studying criminal law must focus on its practicality. This textbook adheres to the principle of linking theory with practice, emphasizing the interpretation of new criminal legislation, the analysis of key, difficult, and controversial issues in judicial practice, the research of new situations and problems, and the analysis of the latest judicial interpretations.
Second, it pays attention to absorbing new research findings. In recent years, with the promulgation and implementation of the new Criminal Law, research in criminal law has made encouraging progress, with many new issues being explored. This textbook focuses on incorporating the latest achievements in criminal law research in recent years, especially since the implementation of the 1997 Criminal Law, thereby enriching its content.
Third, it prioritizes in-depth research on key issues. As a textbook, it should cover the basic content of the discipline, but it should not be exhaustive or evenly distributed, rather it should focus on the main and supplementary aspects. This textbook has made efforts in this regard. For example, it distinguishes between common and frequently occurring crimes and other crimes, providing a more detailed explanation of the constitutive elements and identification of common and frequently occurring crimes, while only offering an overview of other crimes to save space.
