Features: The author, Shu Gong, is a child of the island. He joined the revolution in 1947 and spent a long time working in journalism, public security, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, overseas Chinese affairs, and foreign affairs. He served as the editor-in-chief of Guardian's Ode and Visitors from Taiwan, and as the chief editor of Journey on the Mainland and The Jiang Family. He participated in the compilation of Dictionary of Chinese Names: Contemporary Volume and wrote Steps Toward Hong Kong's Return and prefaces such as After Zhang Xueliang's Departure to Taiwan. His photographic works were selected for Folk Customs, Scenery, and Sentiments of Liaoning and World Scenery and Photography Collection. This book is the author's account of his travels through various European countries, capturing the landscapes and cultural differences of different regions, as well as the distinctions between nations and civilizations. With simple and humorous brushstrokes, he vividly portrays his observations and experiences along the way. The author advocates for dialogue between different civilizations, promoting tolerance and understanding among them, and on this basis, better developing the original civilization of his own nation.
