The theme of this issue is the development research of the Hedong area: Yangpu District is Shanghai's largest science and education hub, and "Knowledge Yangpu" should be its core function. As an important part of "Knowledge Yangpu," "Planning Yangpu" plays a pivotal role in the construction process of the entire district. A series of international scheme competitions for key areas in Yangpu District have become the biggest highlight, which is also the core content and focus of this issue. From these international schemes, we can appreciate the advanced planning ideas, innovative presentation techniques, and unique research perspectives of renowned planning designers.
Yangpu District has successively held international scheme competitions for the planning of key areas such as the Dalian Road Modern Service District, the Wujiaochang Municipal Sub-center, the Fuxing Island and surrounding areas, the W-7 plot and surrounding areas, Xinqiwan City, and the W-5 plot in the Yangpu Bridge area. The fresh concepts from Denmark, Australia, Germany, Spain, the United States, Italy, and other countries have deeply inspired us.
