Patient's question:
It is said that if bilateral fallopian tubes are blocked and laparoscopy is performed but pregnancy cannot be achieved quickly afterward, will they become blocked again soon?Doctor's answer:
Generally speaking, in cases of proximal tubal occlusion, hysteroscopic tubal cannulation can usually be successfully performed to open the fallopian tube. If the distal part of the fallopian tube is blocked, a combined hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery is required. During the laparoscopic procedure, adhesions can be separated, followed by tubal irrigation to check for fluid leakage from the fimbriae or tubal ostomy surgery. If the fallopian tube cannot be reopened through either the hysteroscopic or laparoscopic surgery, assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be considered.
