Patient's question:
Menstruation hasn't come for about two months, so I went to the hospital for an ultrasound. The doctor said there was a cyst that was relatively large, which might be a corpus luteum cyst. What is a corpus luteum cyst? What are the symptoms of an ovarian corpus luteum cyst?Doctor's answer:
Follicular cysts are the most common type of physiological cyst. The continuous secretion of progesterone by the cyst can easily lead to a shortened menstrual cycle. Physiological cysts usually grow or even disappear on their own after menstruation. When small, they generally cause no other symptoms. If they grow excessively and rupture, they can easily lead to recurrent lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, frequent and sensitive urination. In severe cases, they may also cause recurrent symptoms of anemia and lower abdominal pain.
